Tomorrow (June 3rd) we are releasing a cassette only remix by LA’s Fol Chen. They’ve reworked one of their own songs in to an epic 14 minute ride of terror just for us.
They also play a free show in London on June 5th which you should go to if you live in London, or near by, or just fancy a little trip.

This is what the band say about their remix…
Boys in the Woods (“Fire to the Fools” Extended Mix) is a 14-minute
flirt with Fol Chen’s demons, and an ode to suburban boys drawn to the
dark side by the likes of Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden. The track
digs below the album version’s club beats and playful vocals, pulling
out a sinister, sinewy affair best enjoyed late at night in total
darkness. The multi-part remix will be available June 3 as a limited
edition cassette single from UK label Kissibility. Fol Chen will be
visiting Europe and the UK soon to support their third release “The
False Alarms” from Asthmatic Kitty Records.

I’ve been a fan of Fol Chen for years, ever since hearing their song Cable TV back in 2008. I can’t express how totally stoked I am to be announcing this very special single today.
I drank a few margaritas with the band at this year’s SXSW and we joked about them remixing one of the songs from the new album The False Alarms and us releasing it on tape to accompany their upcoming EU/UK dates. As it turns out, it’s a lot more work to extend your track of 3.45 mins to 13.45 - that’s an extra 10 (TEN) minutes of music. But damn, did they do a good job.
